About

Web analytics that lives inside your app

Runlight is web analytics you install as a package in the app that already serves your pages. It keeps its numbers in the database you already run and shows them on your own domain, so every visit stays on your servers and the cost stays the same as your traffic grows.

It counts visitors, pages, sources, places, devices, campaigns, and conversions, as you would expect. It also counts people who arrive from ChatGPT and Claude and the AI agents that read your pages, and it counts short links on your own domain like visits. It works without cookies and keeps nothing that could say who a visitor was.

Runlight is open source under the MIT license. Every copy runs in its owner’s own app, so there is no account to make.

Runlight was created and is maintained by Jon C. Phillips, a product designer and developer who has been launching web products for over twenty years. If you have an idea or have found a bug, write any time.
